Interested in giving a Tech Talk?
If you're an undergraduate student in a computing-related major at RIT, we'd love to have you come show us something cool you know about! Please contact Jeff Linse or Tom Rudick with a topic you'd like to present, and we'll take care of the rest.
About The Program
Thursday Night Tech Talks allow students from all computing disciplines to share the unique tools, technologies, and experiences that they've encountered while on co-op and in other areas outside of RIT's curriculum.
Undergraduate students from Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering are invited to give short (<45 min) presentations to those interested in learning a bit about a particular topic. The program enables students to expand their knowledge and allows presenters a chance to exercise their presentation skills.
The program was started by 4th year Software Engineering students Jeff Linse and Tom Rudick in the Fall of 2008. Since then, the program has experienced tremendous growth, due in part to rapidly increasing interest in the program among students and support from the Society of Software Engineers and the Software Engineering department.
Students interested in giving a talk are encouraged to contact Jeff or Tom so that a date can be scheduled for the topic. The topic of a presentation can range very widely -- development tools, programming languages, operating platforms -- virtually any computing-related topic can make a good Tech Talk.
Special Thanks
We'd like to extend our sincere gratitude to Northrop Grumman for their generous donation of $500 towards the Tech Talk program. Their donation and interest has greatly contributed to the success of the program. Thank you!
