Welcome

by Chris Cowdery-Corvan last modified Oct 13, 2009 12:57 PM

Greetings from the Society of Software Engineers!

The Society of Software Engineers (SSE) is an organization for RIT Software Engineers, including alumni, students, and faculty. By staying active with incoming students, the current members of SSE can ensure that future generations of Software Engineering (SE) students will have all the benefits that they have reaped from the work of the upperclassmen. Alumni also stay active with their department and its students by contributing to SSE, as well as using it as a recruitment area for talented software developers.

Visit us in the SSE Lab any weekday while school is in session, or contact us.

Software Engineering is presently the 5th best job to have in the US! See for yourself.

SSE Polo Shirts and T-shirts Now Available!

We now have SSE polo shirts and t-shirts available for purchase in the SSE lab. Cost is $15 for a t-shirt and $20 for a polo. These tend to go fast, so talk to any SSE officer or mentor to get yours today!

Special Thanks

We'd like to extend thanks to Northrop Grumman, Goodrich, and Microsoft for their generous donations to the Society this quarter. Northrop Grumman's donation of $1000 will go towards our fundraising efforts and the many events we hold throughout the year. Goodrich's donation of $1000 will be used to continue two of our most successful professional programs: Voices in Software Engineering and our Thursday Night Tech Talks. This programs would not be possible without the generosity of Northrop Grumman and Goodrich. Microsoft's generous donation of software suites and merchandise will further our fundraising efforts and help to make our annual Winter Ball a success.

Please take the time to learn more about these generous companies by visiting their websites. And since all three of them are looking to hire software engineers, don't forget to submit your resume!
