Membership

Membership Requirements

• perform one act of voluntary service for the Society per quarter
• active member of a committee

Membership shall be granted immediately upon first completion of membership requirements. Membership is also automatically granted by holding a leadership position (officer, committee head, or program leader). Membership shall last three weeks into the academic quarter after the quarter in which it was obtained.

Membership requirements must be completed each quarter regardless of participation in the previous quarter. It is the co-responsibility of an event organizer and each member to ensure that their volunteer efforts are being accounted for.

If there are not a sufficient amount of events, as determined by the President, membership requirements may be relaxed.

Since this policy was not enacted until Winter quarter, all members who actively participated during Fall quarter shall be granted membership for this Winter quarter.

• priority over non-members at SSE-only events
• ability to check books out of library and remove from lab
• Mercurial and Subversion access on Webserver
• voting rights

Officer/Committee Head Attendance

• Officers may not miss more than one mandatory meeting unexcused.
• Committee Heads may not miss more than three mandatory meetings unexcused.
• Any extenuating circumstances can be explained and pardoned by the President.
