Greetings from the Society of Software Engineers!

Browse around for information about mentoring, networking, and other events.

The Society of Software Engineers (SSE) is an organization for RIT Software Engineers, including alumni, students, and faculty. By staying active with incoming students, the current members of SSE can ensure that future generations of Software Engineering (SE) students will have all the benefits that they have reaped from the work of the upperclassmen. Alumni can also stay active with their department and its students by contributing to SSE, as well as using it as a recruitment area for talented software developers.

Visit us in the SSE Lab any weekday while school is in session, or contact us.

Software Engineering is presently the 5th best job to have in the US! See for yourself.

We need Orientation Help!

We are looking for volunteers to help out with Orientation. If you are interested, email Andrew Bona (ajb2493@rit.edu)

SSE Coffee Mugs are here!

Stop by the lab during the week to buy yours from any SSE officer!

Election Results

Fellow SSE Members, the election results are IN! The results are as follows for the 2009-2010 academic year:

  • President: Jeff Linse
  • Vice President: Eric Lutley
  • Treasurer: Jason Smith
  • Secretary: Dan Cunningham

Congratulations to all of the candidates who ran, an excellent show of force was definitely shown by everyone.

Special Thanks

We'd like to extend thanks to both Northrop Grumman and CISCO Systems for their generous donations to the Society this quarter.  This CISCO Systems donation of $500.00 was raised specifically for the ViSE Committee to help ensure the vision of the Voices in Software Engineering effort.  The Northrop Grumman donation of $500.00 was a fantastic surprise that will go towards the general funds of the Society so that we can continue to increase the quality of our fundraising merchandise and help to defer some of the costs for our other larger events like the Winter Ball.  Northrop Grumman's additional donation of $500 towards our Tech Talk series has helped the program to reach out to students across disciplines.

Please take the time to learn more about both of these generous companies by visiting their websites and since both of them are looking to hire software engineers, don't forget to submit your resume!
